I think it was there in the year 2008 and just at the beginning of the Great World and Spanish Crisis, when I read somewhere that there were 3 languages that would be decisive in the international economic landscape of the following years.
These languages were Russian, Chinese and Arabic.
Specifically they were called the languages of the future and really few people were attracted to them because of their difficulty and the apparent cultural barrier of their corresponding countries.
In 2008 I lived in Barcelona (Spain), now in 2019 and since January of 2013, I live and work in Moscow (Russia).
As it happens, in October of 2009 I signed up for the Official Language School of my city to study one of those supposed future languages, Russian.
Study Russian I personally changed the future and this language is already part of my past, present and certainly my next future, worth the redundancy.
In recent years, I have seen some news similar to that of 2008 and even interrogatively:
Is Russian the language of the future?
When we hear about the languages of the future, we are automatically turned on by the lights of money and happiness, as we relate a good future to job opportunities and the economic situation.
Maybe we just hope to get out of our precarious situation and our routine that repeats itself as if it were a damn loop. Now it seems that the crisis is returning everywhere and with it, again, the languages of the future and the hopes of the people.
Whatever the reason why you are considering studying a new language, you should know that learning a language like Russian can not only give you new job opportunities, but it will change your life and your personal future in every way. Even this fact I consider much more important than find a job in Russia or earn more or less money.
Studying Russian, Chinese or Arabic for example, will influence your mentality, culture, future couple, clothing, food, place of residence, friendships, pets etc ... All that will change in your life as if from a science fiction plot It will be. And I'm sure that for your luck, everything will change for good.
It would be better to change the statement of the languages of the future to that of the languages that will change your life forever.
I am glad that there were no places at the time in the English academy, because if it were like that today I would not be where I am and I would not have learned this language as rich and surprising as it is Russian. And it's not that I have anything against English, but the Russian has given me what I want most today that is my wife and has made my family very big.
If you are equally one of those who only want to know which language is better for work and economic development, then you should think that the things that few people know are always more valued. Well studying English is very good and I also consider it necessary, but this language for example is not going to give you an extra as important as Russian, because basically everyone speaks English and the competition is very high.
Whenever you do the same as others, you will have fewer opportunities.
A language like Russian, even if you do not completely master it, will always give you a very important differentiation status and not only at work. I always tell someone that I have not seen him for a long time that I live in Russia ... he looks at me with eyes like saucers and as if it were an extraterrestrial ...
Cast…? You live in Russia…? But how? There they speak Russian ... Do you know Russian ..? Really…? (And so half an hour ...)
Well, this emotion that acquaintances feel when you tell them that you know Russian and live in Russia, at work can mean a job opportunity. In personal relationships, you will find people more interesting and you will definitely be someone special in this context.
But going back to the language of the future, you should do a little exercise of hypothetical imagination before getting to do anything in your life, in this case before studying a language as important as Russian.
How will my fut07o be if I study Russian?
If I had asked myself this question then on 2008, I should have imagined that I would start dealing with Russian people, making Russian friends, watching movies in Russian, browsing Russian social networks, and go on vacation to Russia, to know the Russian culture in depth, to participate in their traditions and customs, to flirt with Russian girls, to eat their food regularly, to taste the vodka, to move to Russia, to get married, to go on a honeymoon ... and in short, I should have imagined that I would be doing my life away from my homeland and perhaps forever or for a long time.
Who would tell me that today I would be the administrator of a website about Russia with thousands of visitors?
The truth is that I would not have imagined it and what started as a game or a coincidence, because it has ended up being the most important thing I have done in my life. That's why whenever you do something, you have to believe it and take it seriously even if they criticize you and tell you otherwise.
In the end everything comes and goes.
Well, I don't know if Russian is the language of the future or of your next life, and the economic situation in Russia right now is not to launch rockets, honestly.
In fact, all those countries in which 2008 news were named as countries of the future, in 2019 are going through a serious crisis. The price of oil has sunk the Russian currency, China has slowed the growth of its economy in a brutal way and the Arab world you know how it is. A disaster. Well maybe the sheikhs of Dubai do not live very badly ...
Precisely because of the current bad situation, Russian, Chinese and Arabic are once again in the spotlight, since those who master one of these languages in the coming years will participate in one way or another in the restoration of the economic system and World geopolitical relations.
I obviously assume that This means: money.
But I repeat once again, that choosing a language is a task as or more important than choosing a professional career, because it can change your way of existence in this world. We already know that money always comes and goes, we cannot control that. Even professions also change. Learning a language like Russian is for life.
